My name is Joy, and I was born and raised in Arkansas but found myself here in Austin just a few years ago. I originally have a background in science, but I found myself struggling to find a place for myself in the field and dreading what my future would look like. So I took a step back to try to find my happiness, and I adopted my dog, Latte. I quickly discovered that I loved working with her and wanted to help her be the best she could be. The more we worked together, the more I started to dream about how I could be able to help other dogs live fuller happier lives. When we discovered Tara and K9 WorkingMind, I knew I had found a way to make that dream something closer to a reality. Now I strive to learn more everyday with the hope that I can one day take everything I learn back to my home in Arkansas and help even more people build better relationships with their dogs by spreading the "Protect First" mindset.
